Ecosystem Weaving
Director of Ecosystem Strategy, Partnerships & Growth: the longer-term direction of my contribution.
This page sits under Alfred. The role described here is intended, not yet held. It is the direction I am developing toward through the checkpoints described there.
Purpose of the Role
The purpose of this role, as I intend to hold it, is to steward the development of Prisma’s wider ecosystem by weaving relationships across communities of place, communities of practice, partner Hubs, institutions, field-builders and Capital Partners, creating the enabling conditions for action-learning journeys to connect into longer-term transition pathways, resource flows and self-organising forms.
My focus is on what surrounds and follows an action-learning journey: the Networks that inform it, the partners who resource it, and the pathways along which what was enacted continues, owned by the place where it happened.
Domains of Practice
Ecosystem
I map and sense relationships across Hubs, Networks, partners and Capital Partners, and keep a useful picture of where potential, gaps and connections exist.
Partnerships and resources
I develop relationships with partners, institutions, Capital Partners and technology providers, and help structure engagements around shared potential and sustainable resource flows.
Hubs and Networks
I support Hubs and Networks to connect local context with wider relationships and resources, while they retain ownership of their own context, narrative and development.
Growth
I work to grow the number and depth of action-learning journeys and engagements Prisma can sustain, with attention to learning, organisational development and longer-term value rather than activity volume alone.
Organisation
I feed external learning and ecosystem signals into Prisma’s wider development, and contribute to how the organisation evolves with the ecosystem around it.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
These are intended responsibilities, activated as the trajectory develops. My current interim responsibilities remain under Business Development.
- Stewarding relationships across partners, Capital Partners, Networks and Hubs.
- Developing opportunities and partnerships from first conversation into sustained engagement.
- Connecting Hubs, Networks and partners into relevant action-learning journeys.
- Carrying the Protocol’s business model into external conversations and feeding relevant learning back into it.
- Carrying local context into wider conversations, and wider resources back toward place, without losing provenance.
- Supporting case-study publication and documentation of emerging patterns.
Learning and Evolution
Known Edges and Learning Questions
- How do I build partnerships in a way that remains accountable to the Hubs and places involved?
- How do I carry local context, in my case from Northern Nigeria, into wider partner conversations without flattening it?
- How do I move from Hub-level work to organisation-level contribution while remaining grounded in place?
- What evidence is useful for understanding ecosystem health at this stage?
Review Process
The role and its scope are reviewed at each trajectory checkpoint with Tabs and the core team, and revised through practice and learning.
Energy Exchange
Compensation or Stipend
During the interim, as defined in the Business Development contract.
Terms for the longer-term role will be developed at the third checkpoint.
Other Forms of Exchange
As a core role, Ecosystem Weaving is entrusted with equity share, decided on a case-by-case basis between the core team.
